NOAA is calling for a greater than 90% chance of a very strong El Niño this fall and winter. We deliver pre-filled sandbags to Santa Barbara, Montecito, Goleta, and Carpinteria and place them where the water comes in, for $12 a bag. You're ready before the rain starts, not after.
NOAA's Climate Prediction Center currently puts the odds of a very strong El Niño this fall and winter at greater than 90%, with roughly a 69% chance of an event on the scale of anything since 1950. That means more rain, more runoff, and elevated flood and mudslide risk, especially in foothill and burn-scar communities across Montecito and parts of Santa Barbara.
Sandbags are one of the cheapest, most effective ways to keep water out of a garage, driveway, or doorway during a heavy storm, but they're useless if you're trying to fill them yourself in the middle of a downpour, or standing in line at a public fill station after the first big storm has already emptied it out. We deliver them filled, ahead of time, so they're just sitting there ready when you need them.
Pricing: $12 per bag, delivered and placed. Ten bags is $120. We don't just drop them in the driveway: we lay them across doorways, garage doors, and wherever water pools on your property, so there's nothing left for you to carry.
If your property sits below a hillside, near a creek, or in a recent burn-scar area, storm runoff moves faster and carries more debris than a typical rain. Sandbags at doorways, garage entries, and low points in a driveway are a simple first line of defense while you wait on longer-term drainage fixes.
This pairs naturally with a pre-storm yard cleanout. Loose yard debris, old furniture, and garage clutter all become hazards once heavy rain and wind show up, so a lot of our customers order sandbags and a cleanout at the same time. See our full El Niño prep guide for the bigger picture, or check our Montecito junk removal page if you're clearing a foothill property specifically.
